The Men’s 2s lifted the District Cup on Saturday following a 4-2 victory over Western Wildcats. The game started with a bang, with Ewan Campbell scoring a reverse into the roof of the net inside 90 seconds. Ewan then added a second from a penalty corner routine straight from the training ground.
Second half goals from Graeme Campbell and Matt Wilson put the Hillhead boys 4-0 ahead before a flurry of cards gave Western a chance to get back into the game. However, the 9 and 10 men of Hillhead held strong and saw it out, winning 4-2 in the end.
The Hillhead crowd was massive and vocal in support as always, a huge shout out to the mascots from our Hillhead Futures groups. No one does Cup Final days quite like Hillhead. It was sensational.
