In focus: M1s vs Grove Menzieshill
Match details:
Saturday 9th October - Old Anniesland (Water) @ 3.30pm - Scottish Premiership - Gameweek 5
It’s been a tough start to the season for the Western Lettings Hillhead men’s 1st XI. The young and inexperienced squad are yet to record a point this season but improvement week to week has been clear. The opening two matches of the season resulted in heavy defeats against the favourites for the league title Western Wildcats and Grange. However, coach Keith Joss would have been buoyed by the improvement shown against Edinburgh University and Inverleith. Hillhead dominated the majority of possession last week despite missing seven players from the squad, but slipped to a 0-1 loss after failing to secure a breakthrough during the match.
This weekend Hillhead welcome Grove Menzieshill to Old Anniesland, the Dundonians have had a similarly tricky start to the 2021-2022 season, however, they did manage to pick up a point against Kelburne in the opening match of the season.
Hillhead welcome back Daniel Hoare and Vijay Trivedy to the squad for this weekend, boosting their defence and midfield options. Up top, Hillhead will look to Hillhead Juniors alumni Murray Ross, Jimmy Lynch Small and John Reid for goals.
In fact, this weekend’s squad will feature ten graduates from our Junior section which we are incredibly proud of as a club.
