Woodend Tournament 2024
Summer hockey is over and the league season is nearly upon us. Despite the Men’s 1s and 2s also having friendlies earlier in the day we were delighted to welcome around 100 members from our men’s and ladies sections to Jordanhill for our famous Woodend Tournament.
This is our traditional opening day tournament where members get a chance to meet their new teammates and enjoy a great club day on the pitch followed by a BBQ at our clubhouse. This year saw 16 teams take part in small games ensuring tough competitive games despite the weather taking a turn during the first and last games of the day!
This year we welcomed Allander Dental Care, who are the new principal sponsors of the Men’s section, to do gumshield fittings at the side of the pitch. We’d like to thank the team for coming down and protecting our teeth!
Thank you to all the volunteers who made the event a success. It promises to be a bright and exciting season for Hillhead Hockey Club on and off the pitch!
